Oh boy. I may have taken this Tomb Raider thing a little too far. See, it was the first film being played at a friend’s house last weekend that made me decide to pick up Tomb Raider: Underworld (reviewed here) for my Xbox 360.

For my birthday this year, my friends Pooch and Reaper gifted me with the Season 1 and 3 boxed sets of Star Trek: The Original Series on Blu-ray disc. Since this series (hereinafter referred to as TOS) was perhaps my first television love, and sparked an obsessive fanaticism which hasn’t waned for a minute since, I thought it appropriate to post my impressions of these all-new, high-definition episodes.

As the first “official” review on the new Oddball Update, we’ll be taking a look at the 2007 Thai horror film Sick Nurses, better known in Thailand as สวยลากไส้ (Suay Laak Sai). Apple and I recently checked this out thanks to Netflix’s Instant Streaming feature, whereby you can pick any movie that’s available instantly and watch it right in your browser (or on your Netflix-enabled set-top device, like a TiVo HD or Xbox 360).

Over the weekend, one of the entertainment mainstays in my life came to an end as I finally watched the series finale of Battlestar Galactica. It was, simply put, the bittersweet moment to end all bittersweet moments. I already have a big problem finishing things that I really like — TV series, books, video games, etc.

Boldly Going Away

Well, here it is. A red-letter date in Star Trek history. Tonight, the final two episodes of Star Trek: Enterprise—and indeed, of Star Trek itself—will air on the red-headed stepchild UPN network. After which, new episodes of Trek will leave the airwaves for the first time in eighteen years.
