Oddball Review: Tomb Raider (2013)

This Lara is different than the walking-tall, nigh-indestructible badass personified by Angelina Jolie in her film portrayals of the character. The new Lara Croft bleeds. She screams. She cries. She shakes and shivers. She limps about, clutching her wounds and recoils from physical efforts too taxing for her damaged frame to tolerate. She is far more real.

Oddball Review: Tomb Raider Underworld (Xbox 360)

I haven’t done a review in a while. Sadly, since the rise of the HD era, all of my vintage video capture equipment is no longer sufficient for the purpose of grabbing screenshots of high-res video games and Blu-ray movies. Nevertheless, I’ve been spending far too much time consuming media and far too little actually producing anything of value, even a schlocky video game review on a blog that no one reads.

Impressions: Three Xbox360 Game Demos

I took a break this evening for long enough to briefly try three new game demos for my Xbox360 which I downloaded from Xbox Live. Figured I might as well post my impressions here for the “daily update.” Burnout: Revenge The latest game in the Burnout franchise is the first to arrive on the Xbox360, but it’s not much different from the PS2 and Xbox versions that have been out for a while now.
